Rio Grande do Norte is receiving more and more investments in renewables. After developer Scatec Solar sign an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with oil company Equinor and Norwegian aluminum producer Hydro to develop a solar plant in the state, Energy China announced in December the signing of two contracts to build renewable energy projects.
One of the agreements involves the construction of a 638 MW photovoltaic plant, in addition to substations and transmission lines. The other foresees the implementation of a wind farm with a capacity of 231 MW.
According to the company, both contracts were signed by its subsidiary Gezhouba Group International Engineering, in the EPC modality – which includes engineering, purchasing management and construction.
Energy China participated in the construction of the Three Gorges hydroelectric complex, located in China, with an installed capacity of 22.5 thousand MW. In Brazil, the group participated in the implementation of transmission lines for the Belo Monte hydroelectric plant.
