A WNI Smart Energy announced the activation of the first solar plant from GM Fibras, a company in the leisure segment, located in São José dos Pinhais, Metropolitan region of Curitiba.

The plant, which began operations in July 2022, completed six months of operation and has the capacity to generate 100 MWh per year. During this period, accumulated generation was 58,993 kWh, which provided a savings of almost R$ 50 thousand.

In total, we used 142 530 Wp modules, which occupy an area of 450 m². The company expects to obtain all return on investment in up to 3.5 years (considering the value of kWh R$ 0.80).

According to Ludfor's environmental compensation calculation, the system will avoid the emission of around 12.5 tons of CO2 per year, equivalent to 1264 tree seedlings preserved for 25 years.

For João Carlos Miranda, CEO of GM Fibra, the objective of every entrepreneur is to save as much as possible on their fixed monthly expenses in order to invest more in their own business.

“We know that the high energy consumption of factories makes solar for industries more important every day. This renewable source, in addition to substantially reducing electricity bill costs, significantly reduces the environmental impact, and this directly influences the operation and maintenance of factories, when it comes to savings”, he highlighted.

“We are transforming GM Fibras into a more eco-efficient company. We installed a 75 kWp photovoltaic solar energy system to meet the energy consumption of the entire factory”, added Nóbile Scandelari Jr, CEO of WNI.

According to WNI Smart Energy, responsible for providing the structure and putting into operation the plant installed on the roof of the entire factory, this will be the largest plant among companies in the fiberglass artifacts industrialization sector in Paraná.

The company is already working on the construction of another 15 photovoltaic solar plants that are expected to come into operation in the 1st quarter of 2023 in the states of Paraná and Santa Catarina.
