The Canadian company Solar Provider Group (SPG) announced that it will enter the Brazilian photovoltaic market with an investment of US$ 250 million over the next 5 years.
According to the company, there is great motivation to enter the Brazilian market due to its strong growth. Official government data shows that more than 3.3 GW of centralized and distributed solar plants were installed in Brazil in 2019 alone, which represents an increase of 44% compared to the previous year.
In this initial stage, SPG is looking for local partners for the development of the plants and surveying potential energy purchasing clients. The company is headquartered in Toronto and has operations in 11 other countries. The company has in its portfolio a number of projects carried out around the world and has more than 1 GW of projects under development.
