Residential electricity accumulates an increase of 7,78% in 2023

Residential electricity in Brazil accumulates an increase of 7.78% this year, equivalent to double the official inflation, of 3.75%. In the 12 months ending in October, energy inflation is accumulated at 8.59%.

In October, electricity prices fell (-0.58%), despite adjustments in Goiânia, Brasília and São Paulo. The data was released by IBGE last Friday (10/11).

According to ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency), since April 2022 the tariff flag has been green, indicating good energy supply conditions. The expectation is that the green flag will remain until the end of the year.
