O Brazil created about 330 thousand jobs in the sector of solar energy in 2022, which corresponded to a average of more than 900 hires per day, according to calculations carried out by Solar Channel based on reports from ABSOLATE (Brazilian Photovoltaic Solar Energy Association).

This is an amount that easily exceeds the volume of recruitments recorded in all other years. In 2020 and 2021, for example, 86 thousand and 153 thousand hires were made, respectively.

In all, in the last ten years, there were more than 720 thousand jobs created by solar energy in all regions of Brazil – and, by the end of 2023, this value should surpass the 1 million admissions mark, according to ABSOLAR projections.

The numbers presented also show that the national photovoltaic sector also attracted more than R$ 55.3 billion in investments last year – more than double the contributions made in 2021, which totaled R$ 21.8 billion. Since 2012, there have been more than R$ 121.6 billion in business in the country.

In terms of operational capacity, there are more than 24 GW of installed power in the country since the beginning of the source expansion, which totals 11 GW more than the 13 GW that existed in January 2022. By December 2023, the expectation is that the sector exceeds 34 GW.
