Enerside and government of Piauí announce new 322 MWp photovoltaic complex

The Ribeiro Gonçalves photovoltaic solar complex will occupy an area of 550 hectares, with approximately 894,600 modules

The Spanish company Enerside, in a meeting with the governor of Piauí, Wellington Dias, revealed to the press the construction of a 322 MWp photovoltaic plant in the state. Work will begin in the first half of 2020, in the city of Ribeiro Gonçalves, 600 km from the capital Teresina.

The Ribeiro Gonçalves photovoltaic solar complex will occupy an area of 550 hectares, with approximately 894,600 modules. The announced investment value was US$ 320 million, equivalent to R$ 1.3 billion. The works are expected to be completed in 2023.

As a result, the plant should generate around 645 GWh annually, which is equivalent to a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions of 300 thousand tons/year. The project should also generate 180 direct jobs, of which 80% will be local labor.
