Aiming for sustainability and cost reduction, agricultural technical schools in the state network of Rio Grande do Sul will benefit from energy generation through solar sources. In total, 35 13.6 kWp systems will be installed in 15 technical schools in the state.
According to Francisco dos Santos, director of the technical department at Suepro (State Superintendence of Professional Education), the expectation is that the systems will generate approximately 1.4 MWh monthly.
The investment of R$ 30 million includes a budget derived from a parliamentary amendment by the federal bench of Rio Grande do Sul destined for this category of education, intermediated by Suepro, for the acquisition of machinery and teaching qualifications.
“This attitude will certainly bring benefits to the management of the educational institution in question and the school community”, stated Frederico Guedes, superintendent director of Suepro.
