A survey carried out by Greener, a research and consultancy company in the renewable energy sector, identified which companies imported the most photovoltaic modules to Brazil between the months of January and November 2021.
The study analyzed the results obtained by 73 brands in the solar sector and came to the conclusion that the top ten were responsible for 81% of total imported volumes in the first eleven months of last year.
One of the main highlights of the research was the result obtained by Chinese manufacturer ZNshine, which recorded growth of 150% compared to 2020.
The increase in the number of imported products placed the company in the national “Top 10”. The result was celebrated by the company, which highlighted that the increase in equipment imports is related to the graphene coating technology, sold by the company in the country and which provides lower risks caused by hot-spots compared to conventional solar modules.
“Products with graphene have great acceptance in the Brazilian market and satisfaction feedback has been very positive. This result is market recognition for all our work, which is why we are very grateful and proud, the inspiring supplier of photovoltaic modules committed to making a difference on a global scale”, highlighted the company in a statement.

In addition to analyzing the performance of companies in the solar sector, the study published by Greener also shows that the volume of imports of photovoltaic modules in Brazil registered a growth of 82.3% between the months of January and November 2021 (8.70 GW) compared to the full year 2020 (4.77 GW).
The increase in technology imports, according to the consultancy, is directly related to the reduction in equipment prices over the last few years, which – despite having risen in 2021 amid the pandemic – in general, have fallen significantly since 2018 due to the greater scale and greater competitiveness between companies.
