USA will allocate US$ 7 billion for solar energy on rooftops with incentives

This Monday (22), the President of the United States, Joe Biden, will celebrate Earth Day with an announcement of US$ 7 billion (the equivalent of around R$ 36.4 billion) in incentives for residential photovoltaic projects.

goal It is to allow that almost 1 million low-income homes have source access clean and renewable throughout the North American territory.  

O amount available is included on Biden's climate change law, also known as IRA (Inflation Reduction Act) – which aims to create more than 200,000 green jobs and save around US$ 400 per year for families participating in the program, according to information from the White House.

You Beneficiaries include 60 state and local agencies and nonprofit organizations with programs to help residents of poor communities adopt solar energy and save on energy bills. 

The program is aligned with the Biden's goal to direct 40% of the benefits of federal investment in clean energy for underserved communities. The projects are expected to reduce emissions by 30 million metric tons of carbon dioxide.

O announcement will be made by Biden on a trip to State of Virginia, where it will also announce the opening of applications to join the American Climate Corps – a program that prepares young people for jobs in climate-related industries. 

In the United States, the residential solar energy has long been considered a technology difficult to access for low-income Americans due to its initial installation cost.
