A Sengi Solar opened this Friday (21), in Cascavel (PR), a factory solar panels with the ability to 500 MWp per year. The venture will generate more than 1,500 jobs, direct and indirect, in addition to stimulating the economy of this region in western Paraná.
With total investment of R$ 220 million, the factory has state-of-the-art automated equipment and has a production capacity of 3,600 modules per day, which represents 63 GWh/year of clean energy generation in modules produced by the new unit.
According to the Sengi, three lines will be manufactured: Amazon, Amethyst and Citrine. Below are their characteristics, which come with a 25-year performance guarantee and a 12-year product manufacturing guarantee.
- Amazon – has a power range of 525-550 Wp, as well as 21.3% efficiency and 144 cells;
- Amethyst – bifacial with a power range of 580-600 Wp, as well as 21.2% efficiency and 120 cells;
- Citrine – has a power range of 645-665 Wp, as well as 21.4% efficiency and 132 cells.
“The Sengi product was developed entirely by national engineering. We went after the greatest technologies, best raw material suppliers from around the world to try to create the most efficient module on the market”, said Murilo Bonetto, Research & Development manager at Sengi Solar.
“Today, we are on the same level as the top 3 manufacturers in the world. We use high-transparency anti-reflective glass, white EVA to increase the internal reflectivity of the panel and also bifacial cells, even in single-facial panels, to try to extract some of the gain from the rear, thus delivering a module with more generation efficiency.” , he highlighted.
According to the manufacturer, the impacts of the addition of this new plant are not only limited to the increase in labor, technology transfer and inclusion of renewable energy generation products in Brazil, but also in a national reindustrialization process with a focus on products of the future.
The Tangipar Group, controller of the new unit, believes that the increase in demand for industrialized inputs in the solar module chain will enable new factories linked to the silicon, glass, polymers and metallurgy supply chain.
The industrial unit of the group from Paraná, which has an international presence and annual revenue of close to R$ 3 billion, will expand the offer of high-technology renewable energy products.
Opening
The inauguration was attended by local, regional and national authorities, as well as representatives from the productive sector, such as construction companies, developers, electrical material companies and supply chain industries, among others.
“A year ago we received the challenge of setting up a factory as quickly as possible, and this challenge required a lot of planning, from the beginning. We executed it, from the kick-off of the project to the manufacturing of the first module, in nine months”, reported Everton Fardin, general director of Sengi Solar.
“The installation was too demanding. But as we had done very meticulous planning, well done, we executed the plan during this period. It is a source of great pride for all of us”, he concluded.
