Last Sunday (14), a transmission system failure of electrical energy caused the 920 MW outage load in Manaus (AM), resulting in a lack of electricity for around 85% of consumers in the capital and adjacent regions.
According to report of ONS (National Electrical System Operator), around 3pm there was a shutdown of circuits 1 and 2 of the 230 kV Lechua/Manaus transmission line, belonging to the concessionaire Amazon Energy, resulting in the interruption of 400 MW of load.
To the 4:07 p.m., when approximately 130 MW of the initially interrupted load was restored, a new shutdown occurred in the 500 kV and 230 kV sectors of the Lechua Substation, owned by the company Evoltz, resulting in an additional 650 MW of interrupted load in the Manaus area.
Around 6:40 p.m., about 80% of the load scheduled for the time had been restored, leaving only maneuvering operations by the local distributor. The power supply to residents' 100% was only restored to normal at the end of the night.
O ONS is investigating the causes of the shutdowns, while the Ministry of Mines and Energy established a situation room to analyze the reasons that led to the blackout in Amazonas.
O Canal Solar sought out Amazonas Energia for information on the number of customers affected or still without power, however did not receive a response until the end of this report.
