Finep launches notice with R$ 250 million for renewable energy projects

Program will make resources available for proposals that dialogue with the construction of a more sustainable industry

O Finep (Financier of Studies and Projects) launched a series of notices aimed at companies and science and technology institutes, with planned investments for innovative projects in line with the new industrial policy of the Federal Government, launched on January 22nd.

In total, there will be more than R$ 700 million aimed at four areas that dialogue with the construction of a greener industry, R$ being 250 million for projects involving the renewable energy sector.

The sources provided for in the notice which deals with renewable energy involves solar and wind, in addition to technologies aimed at producing low-carbon hydrogen, energy storage and transmission, among others.

Others other investments will be applied in the sectors of sustainable mobility (R$ 150 million), bioeconomy (R$ 250 million) and urban and industrial waste (R$ 80 million).

You Resources will be made available in the form of an economic subsidy, that is, they do not need to be returned, as the Government shares the costs and risks inherent to the proposed innovation with companies. However, the offer of compensation is mandatory and varies depending on the size of the industry.

To facilitate and speed up the process, Finep announced that the calls will be operated in a continuous flow, remaining open for submission of proposals until the available budget is fully committed.

O form for submitting proposals will be made available soon by Finep and the resources are from FNDCT (National Fund for Scientific and Technological Development).

  1. There are really cool projects at several Brazilian universities.

    I saw two very interesting ones that use industrial kinetic exhaust fans (which are on the roof of warehouses and rotate as the hot air comes out) to generate electrical energy.
