Fronius reaches the mark of 1 GW of solar energy installed in the country

Manufacturer estimates sales growth of 50% this year with a focus on the distributed generation segment
Fronius bate a marca de 1 GW de potência de energia solar instalada no país

The inverter manufacturer Fronius reached the mark of 100 thousand registered equipment, which is equivalent to 1 GW of installed power in DG (distributed generation) in Brazil, according to a balance released by the company.

The result represents 20% of the entire installed power in the country, which today is 5.7 GW, according to data from ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency).

“The warming of the market is mainly due to small and medium-sized projects in the residential and commercial areas, which have started to invest more in distributed generation”, says Alexandre Borin, commercial manager of the Fronius Solar Energy Unit in Brazil.

The numbers were calculated using SolarWeb, a Fronius tool that allows users to manage the energy system. According to the platform, 8% of the 100 thousand inverters were registered in the 1st quarter of 2021 alone.

“Increasingly, installers understand the importance of having a trusted brand that offers durable solutions and that has a structure in Brazil. After-sales services such as telephone support, a national repair center and an extended warranty are Fronius’ biggest differentiators in Brazil”, highlights Borin.

The company's expectation is that the DG segment will remain on the rise, thus offering new opportunities for business expansion. The executive projects growth of 50% in sales of photovoltaic solutions in 2021.

According to Borin, more powerful inverters will be launched in 2021, for plants between 500 kW and 5 MW of power. Furthermore, he states that the 50 kWp and 100 kWp Tauro line solutions for this segment will be sold in Brazil from the 2nd half of the year.
