A Fronius, which has just invested 187 million euros to multiply its production, announced investment of more 230 million euros to create new production lines.
The company intends to arrive by the end of this year with 65% growth in inverter manufacturing, which must exceed 32 thousand to 54 thousand devices per month, sold in 60 countries, including Brazil, one of its largest global markets.
“Investments are mainly focused on production capacity to serve the global market,” he stated. Andres Loaiza-Espinosa, executive director of Fronius from Brazil.
“And Fronius do Brasil follows the group’s growth, but on a smaller scale. We hope to continue expanding our service to the local solar energy sector with differentiated products and premium service”, he highlighted.
According to the manufacturer, the expectation for the Brazilian market is to double the number of points installed in the coming years, moving from the current 150,000 inverters to 300,000.
“We expanded the built area of the main factory from 41 thousand m² to 69 thousand m². Our production is running constantly to cover a huge increase in demand in the best possible way,” said Martin Hackl, global director of marketing and sales for the Solar Energy unit at Fronius International GmbH.
In addition to the new manufacturing plant in Sattledt, Austria, which began operations in August 2022 with the production of the Fronius Tauro inverter for high-power distributed generation plants, two more production lines will be installed in 2023.
“The photovoltaic energy market is hotter than ever. Despite the challenges brought about by the pandemic, such as instability in the supply chain, lack of components and personnel, supply was reestablished and, as a result, we had production back to normal”, explained Hackl.
Expansion worldwide
According to the company, many of Fronius Solar Energy's 25 subsidiaries are also strengthening their structure with a view to market growth this year. The company's expansion process is expected to generate a total of 1,300 new jobs distributed across five continents.
Along with the restructuring of the Austrian factory, Fronius is increasing the facilities of the electronic components specialist center at the Czech Krumlov site, which will gain more production lines and double the number of employees.
Fronius do Brasil, in turn, is expanding its technical assistance network and service channels for new 'prosumers', consumers who produce and need to manage electricity generated by the solar energy system, and reinforcing their structure to enter the photovoltaic charger market for electric vehicles.
“Our goal is to deliver superior, future-proof technology to the customer that will produce energy from sunlight for many years to come. Supplying a high-growth market will always be a challenge, but not only considering sales but also the support that our customers demand”, concluded Andres Loaiza-Espinosa.
