Federal Government announces appointment of new ANEEL board

The names of the professionals were published in the Official Gazette of the Union this Monday (18).

President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) appointed the professionals who will be part of the new board of directors of ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) from this year. The decrees, containing the names of the selected professionals, were published in the DOU (Official Gazette of the Union) this Monday (18). 

The following were chosen: Sandoval Feitosa for the position of general director; Hélvio Guerra to be reappointed as director, in addition to Ricardo Tili, Fernando Luiz Mosna and Agnes da Costa to form the Agency's board of directors. 

Sandoval Feitosa was appointed to hold the position of general director, with a mandate from August 14, 2022 until August 13, 2027, in the vacancy arising from the end of André Pepitone's mandate.

Current director of the Agency and career server, Sandoval Feitosa has a master's degree in electrical engineering, technical and economic regulation of electrical energy transmission from UnB (University of Brasília). 

At ANEEL since 2005, Feitosa also has experience as a director at ABAR (Brazilian Association of Regulatory Agencies) between 2018 and 2020.

The other nominations

Hélvio Guerra's reappointment as director of ANEEL will begin on May 25, 2022, with a mandate until May 24, 2024. Guerra has a doctorate in energy systems planning from Unicamp (State University of Campinas) and a master's degree in Electrical Engineering from EFEI (Federal University of Itajubá). 

From March 2019 to October 2020, he held the position of assistant secretary of the Secretariat of Energy Planning and Development of the MME (Ministry of Mines and Energy). 

Ricardo Tili, lawyer and specialist in electricity sales, will also take over the collegiate board from May 25, 2022, with a mandate until May 24, 2025, in the vacancy of Sandoval de Araújo Feitosa Neto. 

Fernando Luiz Mosna will assume one of the director positions from August 14, 2022, with a mandate until August 13, 2026, in the vacancy of Efrain Pereira da Cruz. On his resume, Mosna was a federal prosecutor for Attorney General of the Union between the years 2012 and 2019. 

In turn, Agnes Maria de Aragão da Costa, who has a master's degree in energy from USP (University of São Paulo), will begin her role as director of ANEEL, in the position of Elisa Bastos Silva, from December 3, 2022 until December 2, 2028. The professional has worked for 17 years at the MME (Ministry of Mines and Energy).
