Grupo Açotubo aposta no setor solar para potencializar operações

According to data from ABSOLAR (Brazilian Photovoltaic Solar Energy Association), the solar sector in Brazil received investments totaling R$ 44 billion in the last eight years. And the expectation is that DG (distributed generation) will reach up to R$ 139 billion in contributions.

There is no doubt, this scenario shows that such sustainable technology has attracted and will attract more and more investors, whether from companies in Brazil or abroad, as is the case with Açotubo Group, one of the largest distributors of steel products in Latin America.

The company signed a contract with the Spanish STI Norland for supplying trackers, comprising the metallic or structural part of the device.

“It was great to get to know Açotubo’s facilities, located in Guarulhos (SP), better, as in our company we value the quality of our services and products, which also includes our suppliers”, said Javier Reclusa, CEO of STI Norland Brasil. “This partnership comes at a time of high demand for new projects and I believe it will be very strategic”, highlighted the executive.

According to the company, the business unit responsible for producing the parts is Integrated Solutions, which, to better serve the new client, increased its manufacturing capacity with the acquisition of bending equipment (press), welding machines and a laser cutting machine (sheet metal). In addition to transferring its industrial park to an area of 5 thousand m².

“Two points were fundamental for STI Norland to sign an agreement with Açotubo. The first was finding a large, reliable partner. The other was to be sure of good financial muscle to sustain the service, especially during the pandemic period,” highlighted Denis Lisboa, commercial manager of the Açotubo Group in the Integrated Solutions Business unit.
