A Hoymiles announced the launch of new microinverters which, according to the company, should reduce initial cost to customers without compromising overall performance.

The new series HMS-C is available in Europe, North America and Oceania, and HMS-D is available in Latin America and the Asia-Pacific region.

According to the manufacturer, these microinverters are economy versions added to Hoymiles classic HMS series. The C and D series come with output power options of 1600 VA, 1800 VA and 2000 VA and can be used with conventional high power photovoltaic modules:

  • HMS-1600C/D-4T: used with 320 to 540 W+ modules;
  • HMS-1800C/D-4T: used with 360 to 600 W+ modules;
  • HMS-2000C/D-4T: used with 400 to 670 W+ modules.

“They feature four input channels. As a result, one microinverter can be connected to four solar panels at once, which is why we call it 4 in 1,” said the company.

Therefore, for the same capacity demand, they stated that users can only have one such microinverter instead of the normal four. CEC peak efficiency reaches 96.7%, which promises greater solar productivity, lower cost per watt and shorter investment recovery time.

“The MPPT efficiency of 99.8% means that the microinverter can almost perfectly track the maximum power point of the panels, thus offering the best solar harvest for users,” they highlighted.

With the IP67 housing rating, Hoymiles microinverters can continue to operate normally even after a brief immersion in water. This ensures the safety and longevity of the microinverters.

Other advantages

According to the company, what makes the new C and D series different from the previous HMS series is that they have two MPPTs instead of four, meaning two panels share one MPPT.

“This change provides an excellent balance between performance efficiency and affordability. Both series feature Sub-1G wireless connectivity, which allows for greater reliability and communication over greater distances when used in conjunction with Hoymiles data transfer units,” they highlighted.

As with other Hoymiles microinverters, both newly launched series are connected to Hoymiles' smart monitoring platform, S-Miles Cloud, so users can access visual data on the system's energy production and usage. Additionally, they can receive proactive alerts if the installation needs attention and monitor the overall health of the system.

“We constantly think about how to provide our customers with the best energy solution at the lowest cost. This is part of our effort to make energy open for everyone. With innovations and optimized product design, we want more users to have access to clean solar energy at affordable prices,” explained Steven Zhang, senior product engineer at Hoymiles.
