Santander has completed the installation of the largest urban solar park in the State of São Paulo, in the south zone of the capital of São Paulo, according to records from Siga (Generation Information System), the ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency).

The project has more than 3 thousand square meters of photovoltaic panels and It will be used to supply the only two administrative units of the company that were not yet operating through the generation of renewable energy.

The solar park installation process took around five months and the generation capacity is more than 1 MW at peak times. The average annual production is 1,500 MWh, equivalent to 15.5% of the annual energy consumption of the entire bank.

The remaining 84.5% comes from renewable energy sources purchased on the free market, such as PCHs (small hydroelectric plants), wind farms and landfills.

“We hope to consume only renewable energy in all of our stores by the end of this year, anticipating a target set for 2025,” said Ede Viani, executive vice-president of technology and operations at Santander Brasil.
