Since football stadiums until pig farming, solar energy is present in every corner, whether in sports or agribusiness. So why not expand more and more into other sectors of the economy?

That's what Acquaforte, a plastic material recycling and reuse industry, did. Located in São José de Mipibu (RN), the company invested R$ 2 million to install its own photovoltaic plant.

The project, developed by Enerbras, consisted of the installation of 12 Eco 27 Fronius inverters, with a power of 447 kW and capacity to generate 700 thousand kWh per year.

The system, in operation since July 2020, allowed the company to reduce the monthly tariff, which was previously R$ 50 thousand, to around R$ 15 thousand – which has already brought savings of 70% in around a year. According to Helder Ferreira, general director of Enerbras, the user can obtain a return on investment in five years.

In total, 12 Eco 27 Fronius inverters were used, with a power of 447 kW

“Acquaforte is a company that is very aware of environmental issues. With the solar energy generation system, we wanted, in addition to saving money, to have a strong impact on the image of our products in the market. Today, our customers know that there is green energy behind the success of our products”, stated Modesto Azevedo, president of the company.

According to Alexandre Borin, manager of the solar unit at Fronius do Brasil, Acquaforte has shown itself to be an industry aware of its role in the new green economy of the 21st century, investing in its own renewable generation and, consequently, saving the planet's resources for future generations.

“This generated a competitive advantage for your business in the market, thus increasing the perception of value in your product by customers. Furthermore, Fronius is also very proud to be part of this success story with Enerbras”, he highlighted.
