Personally speaking, I usually joke that this regulation will start the solar version 2.0 here in Brazil.
Based on the photovoltaic systems we already know, solar version 2.0 would be all new systems that adopt batteries, as a storage source to store part of the excess generation converted by photovoltaic inverters.
The Intersolar fair recently held between August 23rd and 25th proves that hybrid inverters and the lithium ion batteries, were the most sought after items by end customers, integrators and distributors who attended the event.
It is very important for a photovoltaic project, in addition to generating its own energy, aiming to reduce up to 95% on the energy bill, also store part of this energy for times when, for some reason, such as maintenance on the electrical network, that consumer unit ends up without the supply of electrical energy from the distribution network.
Besides the financial economy mentioned here, we are now talking energy security. In other words, a consumer unit that, in addition to generating its own energy, once able to also store part of the surplus generated, will continue to have energy to supply priority loads, previously determined by the final consumer in the construction of the project.
In this way, priority systems such as: security cameras, alarms, Wi-Fi mold, general lighting, electric gates and refrigerators, will be working and being fed normally hair battery packs, even in the absence of conventional energy from the electrical grid that usually feeds these and all other loads of a conventional consumer unit.
