Intersolar South America, the largest solar sector fair in Latin America, broke the attendance record in the 2021 edition.

The fair was held at Expo Center Norte in São Paulo (SP), on the 18th, 19th and 20th of October. The event had not taken place since 2019 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to the organizers, the event brought together approximately 28 thousand visitors in three days of exhibition, exceeding expectations of 25 thousand people, a record for the last edition of the fair. In addition, it also surpassed the public of Intersolar Europe Restart 2021, held two weeks ago, which registered the participation of 26 thousand visitors.

“This year’s edition was, in equal measure, rewarding and challenging. The big challenge was the short deadline for completion, strictly following all the necessary safety protocols at this time. We are extremely satisfied with the results achieved, which exceeded our expectations”, said Mônica Carpenter, general manager of Aranda Eventos – the company organizing the fair in Brazil – in an exclusive interview with Solar Channel.

Also according to Mônica, the growth of 40% in square meters meant that the event was able to maintain social distancing for visitors and exhibitors during the fair. She also highlighted the use of masks by all participants.

For fair visitor Raul Kuhin, the main highlight of the fair was its size. “We had low expectations that the fair’s capacity would be smaller this year, and it was actually much more than expected,” he said.

Jean Portela, who was also a visitor at the fair, highlighted the aesthetics of the companies' stands that were more attractive this year. “I came in 2019, the fair is a little bigger, obviously, because of the pandemic, but I expected less public, I was very surprised by the number of people and the accessibility, I was received very well”.

Vagner Mendes, engineer at WK Solar, commented that he participated in the fair with his team and really liked the new features found. “We have discovered a lot of new things, I am very satisfied with this year’s fair”.

“It’s really worth visiting the fair, learning about the latest developments from companies that have been on the market for a long time, new products, competitors, exchanging ideas”, emphasized Christian Krauss, visitor at Intersolar.

Furthermore, 250 exhibitors were also present at the event who, during the three days of the fair, generated approximately 10 thousand direct jobs in the pavilion. And despite the record number of visitors, the precautions and protocols required by public health agencies were followed to avoid crowds during the event.
