Isa Cteep will invest R$ 5 billion in network reinforcements and improvements

Between 2024 and 2028, the Isa Cteep plans invest R$ 5 billion in reinforcements and improvements On your transmission lines and substations, encompassing 250 projects.

At the first quarter of this year, already R$ 243 million were invested in asset renewal, representing a increase of about 20% compared to the same period last year. The projects will have the participation of BNDES (National Development Bank) as financier.

“With the renewal of assets, we contribute to the robustness of the YES (National Interconnected System). These investments are aligned with our purpose of generating sustainable value, as they increase the reliability of the service provided to society and guarantee the sustainability of the business”, says Dayron Urrego, executive director of projects at Isa Cteep, in a press release.

In the technical language of the electrical sector, “reinforcements” refer, for example, to the installation or replacement of existing assets or the adaptation of facilities to increase capacity. Already the "improvements" include carrying out works to renovate equipment or adapt facilities to maintain the quality of the service.

Last week, the Isa Cteep announced an investment of R$ 45 million in the modernization of the Dracena Substation, located in the municipality of the same name, in the interior of the State of São Paulo.

According to the company, this is an asset of systemic interest, as it drains energy from hydroelectric plants in the Paranapanema river basin, biomass thermal plants and photovoltaic plants in the region.

To the works are scheduled to be completed in November and will include the replacement of around 200 pieces of equipment, such as circuit breakers and switches, in addition to the digitalization of the control systems at the Dracena Substation.

“As a result, the reliability and availability of energy supply to the local distributor will increase, the company's decisions will be more assertive and, in cases of possible disconnections, the restoration of service will be faster”, states the statement.
