A Kehua Tech announced that the first project in energy storage in batteries on a large scale in Brazil, ISA CTEEP, has a ESS solution (Energy Storage System) from manufacturer.
According to the company, with the integrated “converter” and “step-up” design, Kehua's turnkey PCS system and 1500 Vdc transformer performs integrated delivery, generating savings in transportation and installation costs.

“The project’s BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) would be discharged during periods of peak demand to support the electrical grid, increasing the safety and reliability of the project,” highlighted the company.
The solution, in Kehua's view, will further optimize the local industrial structure, increase the peak and frequency regulation capacity of the local electrical grid system and guarantee maximum electricity demand of around 400 MW on the south coast of São Paulo in city of Registro (SP), which is expected to benefit 2 million people.
More about the project
The storage project occupies an area of approximately 5,000 m², equivalent to half of a football field. In total, there are 180 racks of lithium batteries, which were produced in China and use the most modern technology currently available on the market.
The battery systems have 30 MW of power, are capable of delivering 60 MWh of energy for two hours and will operate at peak consumption times on the South Coast of São Paulo, during the summer.
