A LONGi announced a RMB 45.2 billion plan (US$ 6.7 billion) for build a production base in China capable of manufacturing 100 GW on wafers It is 50 GW in photovoltaic cells per annum. The project should begin operating in the third quarter of 2024.

In a filing with the Shanghai Stock Exchange, the company commented that it had signed a letter of intent with two local governments in Shaanxi province. In the document, he stated that the agreement is aligned with the future planning of the company's production capacity company.

“The agreement is conducive for us to make the most of our key advantages in technology and products. The project is expected not to affect our current operating income,” LONGi said.

The Chinese manufacturer has been strengthening its production capacity in recent months. In November last year, for example, it signed an investment agreement to establish a 10 GW monocrystalline module manufacturing facility in Guangdong province.
