The Madero group joined the list of companies that invest in solar energy. The restaurant chain launched the first Ecoparada in December, a gastronomic complex that brings concepts of sustainability and energy efficiency.

Located at kilometer 44 of the Castello Branco Highway, close to the city of Araçariguama (SP), the project has photovoltaic panels and charging points for electric cars in the parking lot.

Furthermore, the site has a compost bin and all organic waste collected will be used as fertilizer for the group's restaurant beds. Rainwater will also be collected and used for reuse in bathrooms and irrigation of more than 4,000 ornamental seedlings and 320 m² of green roof.

According to Junior Durski, owner of the Madero group, Ecoparada is the biggest project of his life. “The venture is an invitation to embark on a unique experience with all the flavors of the group, lots of comfort for the family, leisure and entertainment with modernity and sustainability”, he highlighted.

Restaurant in Salvador invests in solar

Following this sustainable footprint, the Casa de Tereza restaurant chain, located in Salvador (BA), also installed a photovoltaic system and will save approximately R$ 14 thousand per month on electricity costs. Work on the 118.8 kWp plant lasted two months and was completed at the end of June 2020.

In total, the plant has 360 solar modules from Trina Solar and four Sungrow inverters. The estimated annual production in the first year of operation is 202 thousand kWh, with an average monthly production of approximately 16,900 kWh.
