A headquarters electrical Brazilian had a expansion in 2.6 GW in power installed at the 1st quarter in 2024, second data from the ANEEL.
In total, the country registered 105 new plants in the period.
According to the Agency, the result for the first quarter is in line with the forecast for growth in electricity generation for 2024, which is expected to be 10.1 GW by the end of this year.
If realized, this will be the second biggest annual advance already verified by the Agency since its creation in 1997 – second only to the growth of 10.3 GW in 2023.
Solar energy is highlighted in the balance sheet
Compared to the first quarter of 2023, the first three months of this year saw an increase of 1,335.56 MW in installed power with 36 plants starting operations.
According to a survey carried out by Canal Solar, based on data from ANEEL, the first quarter of last year saw the start of operations of 24 solar plants which, together, totaled 919.36 MW of installed power.
In the month of March this year, solar energy was also highlighted, with 13 solar plants with a total of 544.22 MW, among the 41 plants that will begin operations, surpassing wind, which despite having registered 25 plants, registered only 316, 30MW.
In addition to these, a thermoelectric plant (26 MW) and two small hydroelectric plants (19.75 MW) also began operating last month.
