Segment has high potential for expansion

With a focus on selling equipment for solar plants above 500 kW in the DG (Distributed Generation) segment, photovoltaic product distributor Techlux signed a partnership with two companies in the photovoltaic industry.

Commercial agreements were signed with inverter manufacturer Kehua Tech and solar panel manufacturer Leapton Energy, Tier 1 and with more than 15 years on the market. Currently, of the 6.23 GW of installed power in DG in photovoltaic systems, only 477.15 MW are from plants above 500 kW.

Fábio Delgado, commercial director at TechLux, highlights that the company is confident that this is a segment “that will grow increasingly in Brazil and that is why it has signed good partnerships”.

We are focused on the segment of plants above 500 kW and for this we invested in two items. We are working with 250 kW inverters and now the launch of 350 kW from Kehua Tech, which has a ten-year warranty provided by the manufacturer and depending on the size of the plants we can supply spare units for the plant”, he states.

“In addition, we have entered into a partnership with panel manufacturer, Leapton, to supply 665W panels, which utilize 210mm cells and reduce deployment cost due to module size, and which also provide a high rate efficiency”, adds Delgado.

According to the executive, the partnerships signed also aim to meet the expectations of investors operating in this power plant market. “Nowadays the power plant market does not evaluate the price of the installed kW, but rather the price of the kWh generated, that is, how much that equipment will produce at that cost, called LCOE”, explains the executive.

As a result, Delgado says the company performed well in the first half of this year. “TechLux had an increase of 30% in its revenue in the first six months of 2021. This growth was due to the company's strategy and the new partnerships we made and helped us drive this growth”.
