MME establishes schedule with 5 more transmission auctions until 2025

O MME (Ministry of Mines and Energy) published, this Tuesday (22), the Ordinance No. 67/GM/MME, which establishes the schedule of five more transmission auctions at the triennium 2023 – 2025.

O The first one was held in June this year and resulted in the contracting of R$ 15.7 billion in investments, the largest transmission line auction ever held in the country to date.

O The next Transmission Auction is scheduled for the end of 2023 and will include the facilities relating to the Graça Aranha – Silvânia direct current transmission line, at a voltage of 800 kV DC. The line will pass through the states of Goiás, Maranhão, Minas Gerais, São Paulo and Tocantins.

According to minister Alexandre Silveira, these facilities are essential for the energy flow electricity produced from renewable sources in the regions North and Northeast.

We are talking about R$ 21.7 billion in investments to ensure greater safety and quality in the supply of electrical energy, in addition to generating opportunities and, mainly, employment and income for the Brazilian population,” he said. The forecast is that 37 thousand direct and indirect jobs will be created”, he said.

For the years of 2024 and 2025, the Ministry pointed out that there are plans auctions in March and September each year, totaling two competitions per year.

According to the Authority, the ordinance also indicates the deadlines, in each auction, for the signing of Transmission Systems Use Contracts (CUST) by the distributors, with power transformers to be tendered.
