In this year 2023, the distributor of photovoltaic equipment MTR Solar will invest R$ 80 million in large-scale plant projects, in order to consolidate itself as a one of the largest providers in Latin America.
Aiming to meet the market's demand for products and equipment, which is expected to grow even more in 2023, MTR Solar entered into a partnership with the manufacturer Tamura Brazil for the supply of approximately 300 dry transformers.
Of the total investment of R$ 80 million, the amount invested in the partnership is around R$ 30 million, with capacity to generate almost 300 MW. The equipment will be used in the solar energy area, which will meet the company's needs in the first quarter of 2023. The other R$ 50 million of the total investment will be allocated to the Juiz de Fora factories and R&D (Research and Development) Centers.
According to the company, there is also a project to implement a “strategic sourcing”, purchasing planning based not only on price, applying variables that allow greater profitability in the long term, reducing LCOE.
MTR Solar also announced Tony Lamenha, executive with more than 12 years of experience in the energy sector, as the most new expansion director can help further boost the company's growth in the sector.
MTR Solar in the photovoltaic market
According to Thiago Rios, CEO of MTR Solar, the company has also invested in a R&D center (Research and Development) to implement more structural solutions in the reality of projects in Brazil.
In 2022, MTR invested in two “joint ventures”, dedicating all of the factories’ production to the company’s projects. With growth of 200% last year, the company's goal for 2023 is to generate business that reaches 1.5 GW in solar equipment.
The company's CEO also states that this year the company will launch a new automation concept for the national 100% tracker, which will guarantee greater stock availability and an increase in efficiency in energy generation from photovoltaic plants.
According to him, “with all these actions and investments, the company's revenue projections for the 2022/23 biennium are approximately R$ 1.5 billion”, he said.
According to MTR Solar, currently 2% of its revenue comes from Latin American countries, such as Mexico. Part of the distributor's annual planning is to reach 30% by the end of 2023, with the opening of new offices in Mexico, Colombia and Chile.
