Northeast: Bahia, Ceará and Pernambuco lead jobs and investments in solar DG

More than half of jobs and investments accumulated by solar energy in the segment of distributed micro and minigeneration at the North East were generated in states of Bahia, Ceará and Pernambuco, according to mapping of the My Solar Financing.

According to the study, the nine states that make up the region already add up together more than 5 GW of installed power in modality, with R$ 25.8 billion in investments accumulated and more than 155.3 thousand jobs created since the beginning of the expansion of solar sources in the country.

Of this amount, approximately 54% of contributions (R$ 14.05 billion) and new jobs (84.4 thousand) occurred in the three states, with highlight for Bahia – which leads both indicators, with R$ 5.88 billion invested and 35,395 admissions computed.

In Ceará, investments in own solar energy generation already total R$ 4.18 billion, while in Pernambuco this value is close to R$ 4 billion. Each state has also been responsible for creating 25 thousand and 24 thousand jobs in this modality, respectively.

The My Solar Financing study was carried out based on official balance sheets from ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) and the ABSOLATE (Brazilian Association of Photovoltaic Solar Energy), being released to the press this Monday (25).

Connect Channel

O Solar Channel will carry out the 3rd edition of Connect Channel, on the 14th and 15th of May this year, in Recife (PE). The congress will take place at the Recife Events Center, located at the FPS (Faculdade Pernambucana de Saúde).

During the event, the public present will be able to enjoy lectures with experts renowned and networking opportunities, in addition to staying up to date with the latest news that will define the future of solar energy in the country.

Among the speakers already confirmed are names such as Roberto Caurim, CEO of Bluesun; and José Vanderley Marangon de Lima, advisor to INEL (National Institute of Clean Energy) and president of Marangon Consultoria & Engenharia.

To the first two editions from Canal Conecta were carried out in the State of São Paulo, in Campinas and the capital of São Paulo, in 2022 and 2023, respectively, at the Unicamp Convention Center (State University of Campinas) and in the auditorium of CREA-SP (Regional Council of Engineering and Agronomy of São Paulo).
