The manufacturer of photovoltaic systems Renew launched the RENO-5K-STR off-grid inverter to the market. The equipment works completely independent of the electrical grid and has a Reno Power battery with BMS (Battery Management System).
The inverter management system protects against overcurrent and overvoltage (charging and discharging), high temperatures, short circuit and meets the mode Sleep security for energy storage.
According to Renovigi, the battery is made of lithium and has a longer lifespan compared to stationary lead or acid batteries. Reno Power has 6 thousand cycles or ten years of useful life and around 70% of charge retention.
“The strategy of offering the lithium battery reinforces the commitment to technologically develop the portfolio, aiming for longer equipment life and quality energy supply”, says Jhonatan Paloschi, coordinator of Renovigi's R&D team.
The inverter is already certified by Inmetro (National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology) and available for the Brazilian photovoltaic market.
In operation
Renovigi's new inverter was recently implemented in a site located in the rural area of Cruzeiro (SP). The installation was carried out by Local Tech, a Renovigi accredited company in Lorena (SP).
“The client lives in a more remote region, with power supply failures, many outages and wanted a solution. We installed the off-grid and today, it can choose to connect to the dealership's network or just to the battery, the load meets all local consumption”, explains Carlos Ferreira, director of Local Tech.
The investment was approximately R$ 35 thousand reais. Renovigi's RenoPower 4.8K battery and a RENO-5K-STR inverter were implemented in the system.
“The protections and inverter are the same, the difference is the battery, installation is simple compared to the on-grid system”, highlights Ferreira.
