Data from CCEE (Electricity Trading Chamber) pointed out that the distributor market, which supplies homes and small businesses, had a demand in 41,442 MWmed in the first two weeks of September, increase in 4,2% compared to the same period last year.
According to the entity, it was the second biggest advance of year in this segment, caused by the wave in heat that the Brazil faces, increasing the use of refrigeration equipment, such as fans and air conditioning. Acre was the state that recorded the highest rate (19.7%), followed by Rio de Janeiro (16.8%) and Amazonas (14.6%).
O Brazil registered extremely high temperatures throughout the winter, which ended last Saturday (23). In recent weeks, thermometers have registered, for example, 40º in some regions of the country.
