A Erechim City Hall (RS) will build and inaugurate a solar energy plant with around 2,600 photovoltaic modules in the second half of this year, on municipal land, in the neighborhood Address of the Sun.
The project will produce 80% of the energy consumed in municipal schools and others public buildings of the municipality.
“The return on investments will take place in three years and all the money saved in energy will be invested in other areas of fundamental importance for the city, such as health and education”, said Diogo Bolzan, engineer responsible for the works, in an interview with Canal Solar .
Bolzan also highlighted that Erechim City Hall will open this April the bidding process to hire the company responsible for the plant’s works. “By the end of May or beginning of June we will announce the winning company,” he said.

The total cost of the works is approximately R$ 5 million and should be completed by the end of 2022, according to the engineer. “We are working with a minimum power of 450 W for each photovoltaic module”, he highlighted, highlighting that the winning company will also be able to make suggestions to change the details of the initial project.
