Since the beginning of the year, ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) has approved tariff adjustments ranging from 7% to 24% on Brazilians' electricity bills.
Last week, for example, the measure increased by 24.85% the energy bill in Ceará. Two other states also suffered from the increase: Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul, with adjustments of up to 22%.
Amid this scenario, alternative sources such as photovoltaic solar energy have been the option for those looking to reduce electricity costs.
According to Mário Viana, commercial manager at I'm Energy, a consumer who still buys energy is similar to someone who rents: they will spend years paying for something that will never be theirs. On the other hand, anyone who purchases a generator is like someone who decided to pay to live in something that will be theirs.
“Imagine that now, anyone who has a photovoltaic system, which produces their own energy, can be more relaxed about what they consume at home, because they are no longer pulling this electricity directly from the grid,” he said.
“Solar panels are capturing sunlight and transforming it into energy. This reduces the value of what the customer pays to distributors by up to 95%, for example”, highlighted Viana.
According to him, a consumer can purchase their own energy generator from R$ 15 thousand reais. “A system can be paid in up to 12 interest-free installments on a credit card, and depending on the company, it can be paid on up to 4 credit cards – not from the same holder – or even financed over up to 10 years”.
Care at the time of joining
The specialist also highlighted that, to avoid headaches, it is important to have a extra care when purchasing a photovoltaic system.
“As it is a market that has grown a lot in Brazil, it is also necessary to look for serious companies that guarantee the quality of the equipment”, he emphasized.
“Pay attention to the delivery time, quality of the material, warranty period, and how you will contact the companies that will carry out the maintenance, whether they are easily accessible”, he added.
Rate increase in 2022
Ceará: adjustment of 23.99% for B1 residential consumers and 24.85% for captive consumers in Enel Distribuição Ceará tariffs. The company serves approximately 3.8 million consumer units in the state;
Bahia: adjustment of 20.73% for residential consumers and 21.13% for captive consumers in Coelba tariffs. The company is responsible for distributing energy to around 6.3 million consumer units;
Rio Grande do Norte: adjustment of 19.87% for residential consumers and 20.36% for captive consumers of Neoenergia Cosern (Companhia Energética do RN). The company serves 1.5 million consumer units;
Sergipe: adjustment of 16.46% for residential consumers and 16.24% for captive consumers of Energisa Sergipe – Distribuidora de Energia SA (ESE). The company distributes energy to around 825 thousand consumer units.
Mato Grosso: adjustment of 20.36% for residential consumers and 22.55% for captive consumers in Energisa Mato Grosso tariffs. The company serves around 1.56 million consumer units in the state;
Mato Grosso do Sul: adjustment of 16.83% for residential consumers and 18.16% for captive consumers in Energisa Mato Grosso do Sul tariffs. The company distributes energy to around 1.08 million consumer units.
