O Minas Gerais state reached a record in the photovoltaic market: 853 cities have at least one solar energy installation. This is what a survey carried out by Genyx Solax Power, based on data from ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency).
According to the Agency, the region leads the state ranking of photovoltaic DG (distributed generation) with around 1.9 GW of power. In total, there are 176,731 plants installed.
“Whoever follows the Brazilian solar sector You are already used to seeing Minas as the absolute leader in distributed generation”, said Bruno Catta Preta, commercial director at Genyx.
“Minas Gerais alone accounts for 16.2% of all installed power in Brazil. Genyx, as a good Minas Gerais native, is proud to have contributed so actively to the municipalities' 100% milestone”, he highlighted.
Solar energy in Brazil
According to information from ANEEL and IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics), of the 5,570 cities that make up the country, only 72 still do not have any photovoltaic system installed in their businesses, industries and homes. The technology has already been implemented in the remaining 5,498 municipalities, representing 98.7% of the total.
