Solar sector celebrates milestone of 1 GW in GD

According to data from ANEEL, more than 117 thousand consumers, individuals and legal entities, already produce their own energy

At the beginning of June this year, according to data from ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency), Brazil reached the 1 GW mark in distributed electrical energy generation systems. According to the agency, this is a major advance, largely provided by Normative Resolutions 482/2012 and 687/2015.

Thanks to these actions, Brazilian consumers gained the freedom to generate their own electrical energy from renewable sources or qualified cogeneration, supplying the surplus to the distribution network in their location.

This August a new milestone was reached: the country already has 1 GW in distributed generation photovoltaic systems. The solar market celebrates. An important generator of jobs and income, the photovoltaic solar energy sector has shown rapid growth in the country. According to data from ANEEL, more than 117 thousand consumers, individuals and legal entities, already produce their own electrical energy from solar sources.
