Sicoob opened plant photovoltaic 152.82 kWp, at the CCS (Headquarters of the Sicoob Corporate Center), in Brasilia (DF). The plant it has 283 panels solar.
According to the cooperative financial institution, the annual reduction in carbon emissions from the Sicoob plant should reach approximately 70 tons of carbon.
Antônio Vilaça Júnior, executive director of Information Technology at Sicoob, highlighted that “there are several benefits for Sicoob, mainly environmental and financial. Brasília has one of the best and most advantageous solar radiation rates in Brazil, which justifies the construction of the Sicoob photovoltaic plant and reduces the return on investment time.”
Dênio Rodrigues, superintendent of IT Infrastructure and Operations at Sicoob, states that the estimated annual savings are greater than R$ 116.5 thousand. “This amount can be allocated to other improvement projects, which generate financial and sustainable benefits for Sicoob and society”, he explains.
“Photovoltaic solar energy is considered a clean and renewable energy source, which makes it highly relevant to the sustainability strategy and follows Sicoob’s ESG agenda”, highlights Rodrigues.
“The implementation of the plant reinforces Sicoob’s commitment to sustainability and solutions that boost the development of the communities in which we operate. Furthermore, it contributes to the energy transition, promoting the reduction of carbon emissions and encouraging the use of clean and renewable energy”, comments Vilaça.
