SolarEdge records record revenue in 2020

The manufacturer also announced news for the Brazilian photovoltaic market in 2021

Photovoltaic inverter manufacturer SolarEdge recorded record revenue of US$ 1.46 billion in 2020, with the amount of US$ 1.36 billion coming from photovoltaic products alone. 

Also according to the financial statement, released by the company last week, the manufacturer ended the fourth quarter of last year with revenue of U$ 358.1 million, 6% above the US$ 338.1 million in the previous quarter.

“Our fourth quarter results reflect the strength of the US residential market and record revenues from outside Europe and the US, led by Australia,” said Zvi Lando, CEO of SolarEdge. 

“Despite the global pandemic, we concluded the year with slight revenue growth, healthy cash generation and we are well positioned for 2021,” he added.

The balance also showed that SolarEdge accumulated an installed capacity of 6.1 GW in 2020, with 22.3% of this amount being installed in the fourth quarter alone.

News in the Brazilian photovoltaic market

Recently, SolarEdge announced the launch of the P1100 power optimizer for solar panels with unit power up to 550W. 

The company also announced a new generation of three-phase inverters for the country, with potentials of 18.4kW for 220/127v networks, 31.75kW for 380/220v networks and 40 kW for 480/277v networks. 

“SolarEdge will continue to invest resources in the Brazilian market to increase its presence in the Brazilian market”, stated Tomer Koren, Latin America manager.
