Solar energy is increasingly present in the venues of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games. The committee announced that the Mountain Press Center, located in the Yanqing competition zone, has installed a plant with a capacity of 128 kW, with an annual generation of 140 thousand kWh.
The plant uses inverters Solis 70 kW and was installed by Ningbo Guangnian Solar Energy Technology Development. The project features monocrystalline silicon double-glazed modules integrated into the building's roof and 64 square skylights over the media hall.
According to the manufacturer, the renewable electricity generated by the photovoltaic system can offset around 90 tons of carbon dioxide per year.
The space, which will host all alpine skiing events as well as bobsled, luge and skeleton, will become a green energy hub for the Yanqing competition zone and contribute to China's efforts to host a renewable Olympics.

“Solis continues to focus on the key technical issues of distributed solar energy projects to accelerate iterative innovation and product upgrades. The objective is to make more and more application scenarios become reality to boost high-quality urban development and allow distributed solar to reach new heights”, highlighted the manufacturer in a note.
“The use of Solis equipment at these Olympic Games in 2022 fully demonstrates that our products have advantages in reliability. Inverters are the main components of photovoltaic systems. Solis has been developing high-performance inverters to maximize the potential of solar plants,” said Desheng Lei, country manager for Solis in Brazil.

In Brazil, the company launched this year a new generation of photovoltaic inverters with powers ranging from 2 kW to 255 kW. The input current of each string of single-phase models is 14 A and the overload is 70%.
“The input current of each string of three-phase products is reaching 16 A. These indicators are in a leading position in performance. In Brazil, we have constantly sought to improve our services. Our service teams are distributed across six cities. In 2022, we will also establish a new service center in São Paulo”, concluded Lei.
