greenfintech Edmond, a provider of digital financial solutions for the photovoltaic energy market, announced an operational leasing model for equipment for medium-sized solar plants, from 20 kWp to 75 kWp.

The project, carried out in partnership with Connection Solar, is aimed at low voltage consumers, small and medium-sized businesses and service providers.

This offer allows legal entities such as condominiums, clubs, religious and educational institutions – which cannot access and obtain approvals to obtain traditional financing or even negotiate rates and deadlines for installing plants on the ground or roofs – to obtain fixed monthly payments, in accordance with the size of the system.

The startup, through its Edmond Pay platform, will manage the entire process of billing and recurring monthly fees, enabling forms of digital payments and financial reconciliations.

The AppSolar platform – another product in the portfolio – which enables the sale of photovoltaic equipment, will be responsible for supplying products to micro plants, making the solution available to networks of registered and approved integrators.

According to the company, the lease contracts range from six to ten years, and at the end of the agreement, the micro plant, with a useful life of 25 years, can become the property of the lessee.

“This entire rental model was designed to help small and medium-sized consumers enter the world of renewables, eliminating the need for large investments, which are diluted in monthly payments. We want to democratize access to clean energy, and this is an important step towards achieving our goal”, highlighted Jackson Chirollo, CEO of Edmond.

For Chirollo, despite Brazil being recognized worldwide for its great potential for renewable generation, there are still many obstacles in relation to obtaining resources, such as assets and services under competitive conditions, that allow the population to generate their own electricity.

“To be at the forefront of clean energy generation in homes and businesses in general, we urgently need to provide means that facilitate the acquisition of equipment and also specialized labor to implement projects,” he stated.

Also according to the executive, DG (Distributed generation) helps preserve the environment, by reducing and even eliminating dependence on means of energy production that are harmful to the ecosystem, powered by fossil fuels.

“Added to this, the increase in the installed potential of clean sources in a decentralized manner, especially photovoltaics, in the medium term, contributes to reducing the effects of water crises, as happens every year, and which lead the government to authorize the activation of plants gas or diesel thermal plants, which generates more greenhouse gases and makes electricity bills more expensive,” he said.

The expert also highlighted that GD contributes to the generation of jobs, as the market has more than 20 thousand active CNPJs formed mainly by small companies.

“At the same time, it is worth highlighting that around 37% of plants per installed photovoltaic generation capacity are commercial units or services, reflecting the capacity of solar projects from 20 kWp to 75 kWp for rental. A big attraction is the perfect combination in the commercial environment to increase solar generation capacity and contribute to CO₂ reductions in its activities”, he concluded.
