Solar Power Plant and Photovoltaic Systems Design Course with PVSyst

Content covered

  • Three-dimensional modeling of photovoltaic plants on a computer with PVSyst software.
  • Use of PVSyst software for the design and sizing of photovoltaic systems (from micro and mini-generation systems to solar plants).
  • Shading analysis of photovoltaic systems in solar plants and roofs considering the proximity between modules and the slope, the horizon, nearby obstacles (buildings, towers, vegetation, etc.) and roof geometry.
  • Simulation exercises and case studies of solar plants and micro-generation systems (up to 100 kW) and mini-generation (up to 1 MW).
  • Technical characteristics of the components of a photovoltaic solar system.
  • Specification and sizing of the components of a photovoltaic system (solar plants and micro and mini distributed generation systems).
  • Study of the positioning of photovoltaic modules and arrays in solar plants and distributed generation systems. Analysis of fixed and tracking systems.
  • Computer simulation of photovoltaic systems with PVSyst and calculation of the energy produced, the FC (capacity factor) and the PR (performance ratio) based on climatic bases.
  • Design verification and validation of components using software.
  • Generation of performance reports and analysis of the main causes of losses in photovoltaic systems
  • Analysis of ANEEL resolution No. 482, operation of the credit compensation system and requirements for requesting access to the distribution network.
  • Comments on ABNT NBR standards on grid-connected photovoltaic systems.
  • Analysis of the financial return of the system connected to the electrical grid.

Workload

16 hours of classes (2 days of classes) with theory exposition and project exercises with the PVSyst software

Target Audience

This is an advanced photovoltaic system design course aimed at engineering professionals, technicians or professionals from other areas who have basic knowledge of electricity. It is recommended to have some reading ability in English or Spanish to use the computational modeling software. The course is aimed both at professionals from large companies, linked to the design and implementation of solar plants, and to professionals linked to the design and installation of photovoltaic systems connected to the grid of any size (micro and mini-generation systems).

*Note: The Sungrow inverter workshop will be held the day before the course (07/26). Registration for the workshop is free and guaranteed for the first 30 people enrolled in the PV system design course.

Workshop on Sungrow Solar Inverters

Sungrow, a leading company in inverter solutions for renewable energy, with more than 82 GW of installed power worldwide, will hold its next workshop in Salvador on July 26th in partnership with Canal Solar.

During the event, the business models and more than 20 products that make up the portfolio of solutions made available by Sungrow in the Brazilian market will be presented in detail, as well as their differences, the best places to apply each model and how to have greater energy production in solar plants.

We will also have the illustrious presence of Canal Solar experts, technically covering DC and AC distribution concepts, good installation practices and main items to pay attention to when choosing equipment and executing the project.

Sungrow will also support Canal Solar in holding a practical PVsyst course on July 27th and 28th. During the course, several simulations will be carried out, including comparisons between plants with centralized and field-distributed inverters so that you can learn how to choose the most advantageous inverter for each project.

Take advantage of this opportunity to increase your knowledge in the area of photovoltaic projects and improve the performance of your plants.
