A Swift, from JBS, is expanding the supply of renewable energy for its own stores in the state of São Paulo. In partnership with the Amber Energy, a company from the J&F Investimentos group, 11 business establishments will be supplied by newly opened Âmbar Porto Feliz Photovoltaic Plant.

A plant consists of 2,352 solar panels and has an installed capacity of 1.29 MWp. The venture will avoid the monthly emission of 56.4 tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, the equivalent of planting 81 new trees per month.

“It is another step for Swift on the path to sustainability and to reduce carbon footprint of our operations. Concerned about the environment, Swift has been advancing the use of solar energy in its own stores and mobile units (vans) since 2019”, highlighted Raphael Jacob, Financial Director and responsible for the company's Sustainability programs.

The company's strategy to prioritize the consumption of renewable energy in its operations is in line with JBS's efforts to become Net Zero in 2040. Swift's goal is to achieve that 100% of its stores are supplied by clean sources by 2025.

Expansion of renewable energy consumption

With energy from UFV Âmbar Porto Feliz, Swift reaches 45 stores served by solar farms. As part of this movement, it is also installing photovoltaic panels on the roofs of its stores, generating energy for consumption in the establishments themselves.

In addition to solar farm and rooftop projects, the company also operates 100% of its mobile stores with panels, which provide power to run point-of-sale systems.
