“There is still a lot to be done in combating climate change”. That's what he said Gonzalo Errejón, CEO of Amara NZero, during participation in the COP-27, which is being held in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.
“We managed to achieve some things, but there is still negative news, emissions are growing and there is a lot of work to be done. The time has come to act, there is no time to waste in terms of energy transition”, he highlighted.
Errejón spoke last Saturday (12), together with Enel, at an event organized by the United Nations Global Compact. At the meeting, he also commented on the different context in which the world lives compared to six years ago.
“With regards to COP-21, in Paris, in which I also participated, the position is different because the situation regarding climate change has changed. We are facing an alarming situation. There were six years in which there was a financial crisis, Covid-19, recession, inflation, a major energy crisis”, he recalled.

Zero emissions
Another point emphasized by the executive is that Amara NZero is implementing ambitious measures and makes combating climate change the axis of its strategy. “Our vision is to achieve zero emissions as a commitment to new generations, as well as promoting the energy transition to achieve a better world.”
“This is the objective and one of the seven values that guide our culture, a culture that we live every day in every corner of the company, respecting the environment, with agility and empathy, working as a team and in an honest and reliable manner”, he highlighted .
“We are a B2B distributor with a main focus on the energy transition that sells products and services in Spain and six other countries (Mexico, Brazil, USA, Italy, Portugal and China), employing more than 1,500 families and with an estimated turnover of billion euros for next year”, he pointed out.
New sustainability department
To demonstrate compliance with its commitments, Amara NZero announced that it will launch its sustainability strategy based on ESG criteria in 2023 and will measure performance according to the most demanding international rankings and standards.
“As a consequence of this approach and to ensure the effective implementation of its strategy, we created a new sustainability department, headed by Martín Centeno”, concluded the company.
