Solar plant will supply HostDime data center in PB

North American company will invest more than R$ 5.4 million in the construction of the project

O HostDime, a North American provider specializing in data storage, announced the construction of a solar power plant of 5.9 MW in the municipality of Pillar (PB), about 50 km from the state capital. 

According to the company, all generated energy by the enterprise will be used to meet the demand of the company's data center, in João Pessoa, ensuring so one one average electricity savings of R$ 800 thousand monthly. 

In this first phase of the plant's development, over 2 thousand photovoltaic modules were installed. 540 Wp of power on a plot of 12 thousand m².

The area acquired by the company for the project is more than five hectares and is essential to meet the demand of the data center located in João Pessoa.

In total, the plant has an initial investment of around US$ 1.17 million, the equivalent of R$ 5.48 million in the current exchange rate of the Brazilian currency. When in operation, the system will have an installed power of 1,081.08 kWp, generating an average of 122,500 Wh per month.

Founded in 2001, the American HostDime has had operations in Brazil since 2006, with two data centers in the country (the other is located in São Paulo).

The company also has other data centers in other locations, such as the United States, India and Mexico, and rents space in third-party facilities in Colombia, Hong Kong and the United Kingdom.
