137 kWp solar plant is installed in Santa Casa de Araraquara

ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) invested approximately R$ 463 thousand in Santa Casa de Araraquara, through the PEE (Energy Efficiency Program). The objective of the investment was to provide the unit with the installation of a photovoltaic solar plant with a power of 137 kWp, in addition to exchanging 364 common light bulbs for LEDs.

The work was developed by CPFL (Companhia Paulista de Força e Luz) and included the installation of Dynamic Solar Energy. In total, 264 solar panels from JA Solar and inverters from ABB were installed. The project lasted approximately 12 months.

According to the concessionaire, savings on the hospital's electricity bill can reach around R$ 91.4 thousand annually, saving approximately 202 MWh per year.

According to Felipe Henrique Zaia, Energy Efficiency Manager at CPFL, the project aims to achieve environmental sustainability and reduce expenses for new investments at the hospital.

“Philanthropic institutions have difficulty in having their accounts balanced, so this type of project really helps hospitals to reduce their monthly energy bills and with this savings, they can invest in other needs”, explained Zaia.

The general director of Santa Casa de Araraquara, Rogério Bartkevicius, celebrated the completion of the work and reinforced that the savings generated will be invested in the patient's health.

“Energy sustainability is extremely important for a hospital that has various equipment for carrying out exams and even life support, so this action has a special meaning, not only financial, but also sustainable”, added Bartkevicius.

“It is graphic for us at Dinâmica Energia Solar to help people in our society. Santa Casa de Araraquara should reduce its costs, which means it will be able to use the savings to purchase new equipment and improve the unit”, highlighted Artur Cantador Bernardo, commercial manager at Dinâmica Energia Solar.

The Energy Efficiency Program is regulated and supervised by ANEEL, as it is an obligation of energy concessionaires. Its main objective is to promote the efficient use of electrical energy in all sectors of the economy. Concessionaires must apply a minimum percentage of 0.5% of the ROL (Net Operating Revenue) in improvements.
