Trina Solar announced that total sales of its Vertex series ultra-high power solar panels have just reached 1 GW globally, including approximately 200 MW in Europe as well as three other regions: Asia Pacific, Middle East and America Latin.

In February this year, the manufacturer launched, on a global scale, the Vertex 500 W series photovoltaic modules. In five months, the power generated by the panels was increased to more than 600 W.

According to the company, Trina's R&D (Research and Development) team uses multi-busbar technology as a basis to further improve module efficiency and reduce current transmission losses and interconnection bar resistance losses.

As a result, the manufacturer innovated the design layout of advanced technologies such as non-destructive cutting and high-density packaging. These technologies made it possible to further reduce strength loss and significantly improve the modules' resilience against cracking and heat resistance, as well as maximizing storage space.

Furthermore, Trina highlighted that Vertex series panels adopt a low-voltage, high-power string design. By increasing the power of a single string, the total number can be effectively reduced and the corresponding necessary mechanical connections, such as trackers and electrical connections can be reduced.

Another advantage highlighted by the company is that, with the increase in panel power, the number of modules needed to produce the same capacity is reduced. As a result, associated costs (e.g. installation and construction costs, tracker construction cost, cable installation and management and others) are also reduced, lowering the overall BOS (Balance of System) cost and maximizing consumer gains.

Trina's energy future

By the end of 2020, the production capacity of Vertex series ultra-high power panels is expected to reach 22 GW in total.

Trina stated that with the expansion and improvement of production capacity, as well as the connection and innovation of the entire industrial chain, ultra-high power panels will attract more customers and the industry will have an extremely promising future.

Trina will increase production of 500 W and 600 W panels

Trina Solar announced that it will expand its solar panel production capacity by 15 GW. The project is estimated to cost around 3 billion yuan (R$ 2.5 billion), of which 1.5 billion yuan (R$ 1.2 billion) will be used to purchase equipment.

According to the manufacturer, construction should begin later this year and will be completed in 2023. To this end, the company signed a cooperation and investment agreement with the Management Committee of the Changzhou National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, in China.
