A ABVE (Brazilian Electric Vehicle Association) released, this Monday (2), an official note in which it denies any participation in GTs (Working Groups) on standards for connectors or charging station nozzles for electric cars.

In recent days, some media outlets published information that ABVE would be participating in a supposed WG with Inmetro to address the issue. “ABVE does not participate in any debate group on charging station connection standards – neither with Inmetro nor with any other entity,” the company said in a statement.

In the text, they informed that the Association's understanding is that the connection standards, sockets or nozzles of charging stations in operation in Brazil will be decided gradually by the natural evolution of the electromobility market in the country.

“ABVE does participate in a GT with ABNT (Brazilian Association of Technical Standards), but specifically to deal with safety protocols in the installation of charging stations and interconnectivity”, they concluded.
