Aiming economy and sustainability, the Maringá City Hall (PR) announced that the city's airport will receive, by the end of the year, the installation of a photovoltaic system.

According to Pasta, solar energy will provide savings of approximately 80% of the R$100 thousand, on average, that are paid on the monthly electricity bill.

Fernando Rezende, superintendent of the airport, said that the project is already ready. Next will be the budget analysis, fundraising at BRDE (Regional Development Bank) and the opening of a tender to hire a company for the works.

According to the city hall, the panels will be installed close to the SCI (Fire Protection Section). “Sustainable energy will be used in the site’s lighting, air conditioning, markings, equipment, among others.”

“This is one of the improvements at the airport aimed at expanding services and business opportunities for local companies. The runway has already been renovated and expanded, and a Federal Police base and equipment installed,” said the Authority.

In May, an agreement was signed at Expoingá with BRDE, on programs that relate economy, sustainability and security.

One of the first photovoltaic projects under Ulisses Maia's administration was the installation of 64 poles with street and avenue name signs.

Use of LED lamps

The Infrastructure Secretariat highlighted that 8,600 common light bulbs have already been replaced with LEDs in 12 public spaces such as squares and parks, as well as streets and avenues throughout the city. Another 20 public places should receive LED lighting by the end of the year, as well as 30 schools and daycare centers.
