Contribute to the expansion of the EV (electric vehicle) supply network in Brazil in 2021. This is the objective of EDP, which announced the implementation of two more charging stations at São Paulo International Airport, in Guarulhos.
According to the company, one of them is located in the Terminal 1 parking lot and the other in the Terminal 3 Garage Building.
With delivery, three charging stations have already been installed – the first was opened in 2020 in Terminal 2, in a partnership with Beep Beep, an EV sharing company.

With a power of 22 kW and semi-fast charging, each charger will supply up to two cars simultaneously using AC (Alternating Current) with the Type 2 connector. Depending on the car model, the company stated that it is possible to guarantee a range of 100 kilometers after 40 minutes of charging, allowing it to stay less than 1 hour in the airport parking lot.
“With this initiative, we will provide one of the main hubs for the movement of people in Brazil with EV charging infrastructure, giving the greatest possible visibility to the hassle-free charging experience provided by EDP Smart”, highlighted Carlos Andrade, vice president of Customers at EDP in Brazil.
Use of the stations will be free. To access it, you must download the EDP EV Charge BR application or use your Ev.Card. In total, EDP currently has 50 active charging points in the country.
Electric mobility sector grows at EDP
EDP Smart's electric mobility segment showed significant growth in 2020. 3,200 recharges were recorded throughout the year, an increase of 89% compared to 2019.
From 2018, when the first charging stations opened, to 2020, more than 27 tons of CO₂ were no longer emitted thanks to the investment made in this type of infrastructure, stated the company.
EDP has a global commitment to electrify 100% of its fleet by 2030, as well as develop new offers and commercial solutions that promote the energy transition.
