The IAE (International Energy Agency), an organization that guides and supports the energy policies of several nations, published this week a manual with urgent measures to reduce global warming around the world.

The main flag defended by the entity is that renewable energies need to be embraced so that the planet can limit the increase in temperature to up to 1.5 degrees above the pre-industrial period, thus avoiding irreversible natural catastrophes.

The agency's plan has more than 400 measures and most of them are considered urgent. According to the entity, it is necessary to immediately stop approving new coal plants and oil exploration fields and invest heavily in the adoption of clean solutions, such as solar, wind and nuclear energy.

According to the Agency's plan, the ideal would be for all existing coal plants on the planet to be closed or adapted to absorb the carbon they produce by 2040. Furthermore, the way the current world moves also needs to be reviewed.

This is because, according to the entity, today only 5% of vehicles in the world are electric. The agency states that by 2030 this number would have to jump to 60%, while by 2035, the sale of vehicles powered by fossil fuels would have to be phased out. All this so that, by 2050, only cars with batteries or hydrogen fuel will circulate on the streets and highways.
